Pierre-André Guay plays a central role at Soteck Clauger. He steers the development of technical solutions and the evolution of engineering practices.
With nearly 20 years’ experience in building mechanics and industrial processes, he transforms complex needs into concrete, high-performance, sustainable solutions.
With the company since 2006, he mobilizes multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver high value-added projects.
Its role is to guide technical choices, structure design approaches and ensure consistency between performance, energy efficiency and the reality on the ground.
From steam pipes to engineering teams
Originally from the Centre-du-Québec region, Pierre-André comes from an entrepreneurial background in industrial plumbing, and developed a concrete understanding of worksites and industrial processes at an early age.
Trained in mechanical engineering, he specializes in building mechanics and energy efficiency. Early in his career, he took part in industrial design, estimating and maintenance projects, particularly in the agri-food sector.
In 2011, he took over management of an engineering team. This progression has enabled him to build a global vision integrating technical, human and operational issues.
When technology meets operational performance
- Design of industrial mechanical systems: piping (steam, hot water, glycol) and ventilation
- Air treatment and climate control in demanding food processing environments
- Implementation of energy efficiency and heat recovery solutions
- Innovation and continuous improvement of design systems and practices
Validate feasibility before designing the solution
What sets Pierre-André apart is his ability to intervene at the earliest stages of a project. He validates feasibility and quickly guides technical decisions.
His approach is based on a detailed understanding of the customer’s constraints, whether related to production, deadlines or the operating environment. It favors solutions that are not only high-performance, but above all feasible and robust in real-life operations.
Large-scale projects that create sustainable value
Pierre-André led the design of a mechanical refrigeration room for a food processing plant. The project integrated ammonia systems and heat recovery solutions. Valued at over $5 million, it significantly increased production capacity while optimizing energy consumption.
He was also involved in the construction of an all-electric recycling sorting plant. The challenges of ventilation, pressurization and management of a very dusty environment called for innovative, large-scale solutions.
In the agri-food sector, it has contributed to major energy optimization projects. These projects have significantly reduced natural gas consumption, water consumption and GHG emissions, while improving process performance.
Building teams like building systems
For Pierre-André, the success of a project depends on the ability to bring the right people together around a common goal. A committed manager, he places great importance on collaboration, transparency and creating value for the customer.
A committed father, he passes on to his children the values of discipline, effort and team spirit, particularly through sport. This human dimension has a direct influence on his management style, which values cohesion and personal development.
Driven by a constant desire to innovate, every day he helps Soteck Clauger evolve towards more efficient, sustainable and practical solutions.
