Pierre Delorme

Industrial Energy Efficiency Engineer

At Soteck Clauger, Pierre Delorme supports industrial companies in optimizing their energy installations, with a clear objective: to improve their performance while reducing their environmental impact.

As an energy engineer, he works at the crossroads of industrial refrigeration, energy efficiency and process optimization.

A graduate ofINSA Strasbourg in climate and energy engineering, Pierre now has over 8 years’ experience in the field.

His background, which combines solid field experience and engineering expertise, enables him to approach projects with a pragmatic, technical and results-oriented vision.

Joining Soteck Clauger in 2022, he actively contributes to the development of energy efficiency projects for industrial customers, combining technical analysis, engineering design and strategic support.

A career rooted in the field and engineering

Pierre began his career as an industrial refrigeration engineer, working directly on installations using different fluids such as NH₃ (ammonia), CO₂ and traditional refrigerants. This experience enabled him to develop a very concrete understanding of plant operation and operating constraints.

He or she then progresses to project management and engineering positions, where he or she is involved in designing energy projects, sizing systems and monitoring the performance of installations. They also contribute to setting up energy performance contracts and monitoring results.

This background, combining fieldwork and design, enables him to support customers with a global approach: understanding existing installations, identifying levers for improvement and proposing solutions adapted to operational realities.

Expertise in energy performance

Pierre operates mainly in the agri-food and industrial sectors, where energy and environmental issues are particularly strategic.

His areas of expertise include
  • Industrial energy efficiency, including audits, system optimization and performance monitoring
  • Industrial refrigeration, including systems using NH₃, CO₂ and heat recovery solutions
  • Energy management, including the deployment of monitoring systems and performance indicators
  • Hydraulic design for heating, cooling and heat recovery networks

He is particularly well known for implementing an approach known as the flash energy auditThis enables us to quickly identify the main opportunities for optimization, and to propose concrete actions that can be implemented in the short term.

Real-world expertise

What sets Pierre apart is his ability to build relevant solutions from the ground up. He favors an approach based on concrete analysis of installations, consumption data and operating constraints.

For him, an effective solution must be :
  • Technically robust
  • Economically relevant
  • Adapted to existing operations
  • Compatible with production continuity

He also attaches great importance to understanding the customer’s challenges, in order to propose solutions that really fit in with their reality.

Projects that make a real difference

Among the key projects to which Pierre has contributed are a major energy efficiency project in the agri-food sectoraimed at significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions at two processing sites.

The project includes

This $11 million-plus project will generate significant energy savings while significantly reducing the facility’s environmental footprint.

Pierre also contributes to the deployment of energy management tools, enabling structured monitoring of consumption and improvement of plant performance over time.

A balanced human approach

For Pierre, each project is above all a meeting between technical challenges and human realities. He places great importance on listening, understanding needs and building a relationship of trust with his customers.

Driven by technical challenges, he sees every problem as an opportunity to create value and improve plant performance.

Outside work, Pierre also places great importance on his personal balance. He regularly takes part in sporting activities such as cycling, running, swimming or field hockey, which help him maintain his energy and concentration. These activities also contribute to strengthening his team spirit, a value he naturally transposes to the way he collaborates with his colleagues and customers.

Convinced that energy efficiency is an essential lever for the future of industry, Pierre puts his expertise at the service of companies to transform energy challenges into concrete opportunities for performance and sustainability.
