Yes, and it\u2019s almost always the best economic decision. A new compressor costs between $50,000 and $500,000, depending on its capacity. A complete overhaul costs between $5,000 and $50,000. <\/p>

We service the leading brands in the industrial market: Sabroe, Vilter, Mycom, Grasso, and Bitzer. Screw compressors are brought into our shop, where we perform dimensional inspections of the rotors, replace bearings and seals, and then restore them to the manufacturer\u2019s tolerances. Piston compressors are generally serviced on-site. <\/p>

Expect one to two weeks of downtime, depending on the model. We first determine whether an overhaul is warranted by analyzing the oil and measuring vibration levels, since a compressor with a damaged housing cannot be overhauled. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

We convert your systems to use refrigerants that comply with current regulations. R22 is generally replaced with R407C or R407F, and R404A with R448A or R449A. <\/p>

The choice between the two options depends on your temperature profile and your system\u2019s tolerance for temperature drift in the mixture. R407F provides better performance at medium temperatures than R407C, but its higher temperature drift requires verification of the behavior of flooded evaporators and adjustment of the expansion valves. We perform measurements before making a recommendation. <\/p>

Each conversion also involves changing the oil to a compatible lubricant, replacing the elastomer seals, and flushing the system. We document the charge and the new fluid part number in the equipment record, as required by the Halocarbon Regulations<\/a>. <\/p>
